"Lampang" Hand-woven Cotton Tablecloth
Beautiful Cotton Tablecloth
This beautiful hand-woven cotton fabric comes from a pretty little weaving village north of Lampang, northern Thailand.
The people in the village still weave and dye the cotton in the traditional manner. All the looms are hand operated, not machine driven, and the pigments used for the colours come from locally grown plants including jack fruit, cassia leaves, dark fig and ebony fruit. Even the cotton thread used is hand processed, beginning with removing the seeds from the cotton balls, through to hand spinning the thread.
